🎃 October 25 - October 29 🎃
Click HERE for the calendar for November (we have 2 virtual SCIENCE field trips in November).
Ask your child about the learning we did this week.....
Math: Estimating weight, circumference, height and number of pumpkin seeds in our pumpkin. A big thanks to 2 brave students who dug into our pumpkin to remove all the seeds (they counted 325 seeds!!). Click on Check It Out to see our work.
Polygons/Graphing - We completed our polygon project including identifying polygons, designing with polygons and graphing the number of polygons in our design.
Writing: using descriptive words to improve our writing.
Social Studies*: learning about a celebration in India...Diwali. Some students shared their Diwali experiences, we took notes about this celebration and made beautiful Rangoli designs. Click on Check It Out to see our work. *Read Mrs. Taylor's email regarding this day:
Thursday November 4 is Diwali - Diwali is great cultural celebration that many of our families participate in adn we would like to honor those children who celebrate this holiday. If your family specifically celebrates Diwali, those students are invited to wear their FORMAL FANCY DIWALI celebration clothing on Thursday instead of their uniform. We will call those students down to the library for a special photo for our year book.
If your family does NOT celebrate Diwali, you are expected to still be in uniform - this is NOT a casual day
Appreciating the Land**: we continue to visit our sit spots, make thoughtful (uninterrupted) observations and be thankful for the sounds, colors, and the fresh air around us. Click on Check It Out to see our work.
**Please note (as pre the email sent last week): We are planning to go on a community walk next week to Flint Park (the same park we did our Adventure Running). We will be continuing with our Appreciating the Land type activities (exploring and making observations). Please make sure your child is dressed in proper outer wear.
