Math - connecting 2-D and 3-D shapes to items we see in nature
Science - conducting our first few science experiments. The fizz test (testing for limestone) and learning about Mohs hardness test.
Social Studies - sharing our cultural celebrations and discussing similarities and differences using a Venn diagram

Leadership - Our donations to the Calgary Food Bank
LA - Simile booklet and Bio poetry
Math - Learning about 3-D shapes and finding these shapes in the real world...(including the food we have collected for the Calgary Food Bank)
Science - Rocks and Minerals .... seeking out information in
non fiction books and classifying rocks into different categories.
November 15 - November 19
MATH - building numbers using base ten blocks and figuring out increasing and decreasing number patterns using our hundred booklet.
Using playing cards to help us with our addition and subtraction facts.
LA - learning about similes and how similes can enhance our writing.
Guided Reading station fun including... Reading and Responding to create a funny creature, discovering new information in non-fiction books and spelling our words using play-dough.
November 8 - November 10
LA - Writing about Peace and connecting it to our senses
November 1 - November 5
Diwali - learning about this celebration and designing beautiful Rangoli art.
Math - practicing increasing and decreasing number patters (using our hundred book to help)

Art - creating colorful art that reminds us of our experiences feeding the birds in front of our school. This art work will be coming home soon (Acorn Art School Fundraising)
Math - estimating stations including weight and height of our pumpkin, how many spiders and goggly eyes

Art - teamwork..... helping make our hallway look bright and cheerful

Jamboards - learning about Jamboards and creating a Jamboard displaying things we are grateful for.
