Ask your child about the learning we did this week....

LA - We wrote about the importance of the Food Bank and how we displayed leadership by helping promote food collection at our school. 

Thank you again for all your generous food donations


Science - We continued learning about the different properties of rocks such as hardness, luster and texture.  We also did the scratch test to to help us learn about minerals found in rocks.

Social Studies - We worked together to learn more about celebrations in different parts of the world.  Then we started to make comparisons between these celebrations and our own traditions. 

Math - working with 2-D/3-D shapes and learning more about regrouping. Click on Check It Out to see some of our work.

Character/Leadership - We continued developing our character/leadership skills by sharing information about the importance of the Calgary Food Bank.  Food donations continue to be accepted until December 13.


Science - We conducted our first few science experiments.  The Fizz test and testing how soft or hard a rock is using the Mohs hardness scale.  Click on Check It Out to see some of our work.

Math - Click on Check It Out to see some of the 2-D and 3-D shapes we found outside in Nature.  

Social Studies - We are almost done learning about some of the geography in Peru, India, Tunisia and Ukraine.  We have started our Celebration unit - it was fun sharing our traditional celebrations.  We discussed similarities and differences and created a Venn diagram - Click on Check It Out to see some of our work.
