🐣 April 4 - April 8 🐣
We are very excited to see signs of Spring! Look what is growing in front of our school.
Cultural Celebrations:
We started the week learning about Ramadan by having students share how they celebrate, watching videos and writing notes about this celebration.
Literacy:
The students completed their story about winning the Golden Ticket. The writing focus continues to be on Showing (emotions) don't Tell. Many students are using phrases such as "My eyes widened" and "I smiled from ear to ear" to SHOW their happiness.
Math:
We are learning about Passage of Time and solving problems using the calendar including "How many days, weeks or months until my birthday?" Some are challenging each other with questions such as "How many minutes in a day?"
Spring Concert:
The entire school continues to work hard rehearsing for the upcoming concert. Our class created some delicious looking props that will be used during the singing of The Candy Man.
Social Studies:
We ended the week talking about qualities that make a good leader. Students shared their thoughts and created a list of qualities including words such as caring, scholarly, and open minded - Wow I was impressed with the vocabulary!!
